The only solution I can see is to rub the render as smooth as you can and fibreglass over the top... or G4... I think you'll be weeing in the wind trying to put a liner over 'rough' spots and 'lumps'... it would eventually start leaking...

This is the problem, where the old wall was cut away. The render can't be chipped off- I put too high a percentage cement in it, so need to render over, which will be lumpy. Can't afford professional glassing and a liner would be very ugly as the top set of bricks are already on. Any ideas welcome!

The next door neighbour's fence came down in the storm and exposed a bit of their wall I hadn't properly damp proofed so as I was paying to get that sorted thought I'd 'amend' the pond into something more koi friendly. All the original pond and patio etc I did myself.

The before! I wanted a waterfall, in case you were wondering why someone would divide a pond down teh middle. I didn't have any fish when I designed it, and I thought I'd have goldfish in both sides. Then I picked up some koi from the garden centre and logged onto YKS.

A lovely and stylish pond. I like the water level being at the surface. I might have been tempted to line the top of the wall in slate to hide the top of the liner but it has been so neatly done I also like it the way it is. So nice to see a modern pond.
