Hi Roy
Today i recieved a ulcer wound kit by kusuri and have treated both fish with infections, i also recieved a scope today and have identified flukes, not many, 2 on a single scrape. i will treat with fluke m tomorrow and scrape again after that. water is fine now, i had my filter crash a couple of weeks ago after enlarging the pond and had an ammonia reading of 1mg. When tested i had no KH reading at all. Water is now fine with only light feeding 4wks later, ammonia 0, nitrite 0 and ph @7.5. Think this problem was triggered from the few bad days, so hopefully nearly now on top of it. Thanks for your help, very much appreciated.

hi pete, a topical treatment means to paint the infected area with an anti-bacterial solution. i have found one of the best to be IO-SAL from allendale koi in nottingham.
just reading the info on ex5, i would say that it will NOT kill flukes or trichodina, so you need to get the scope used & find out what is bothering your koi. also are your filters clean & does your water test out ok, if not trickle fresh purified water in for a few days, hope tis helps?

Hi Jason
Having real probs at the moment, had filter crash about 3 wks ago due to no KH, enlarged pond, lots of new very soft water, no buffer, Crash went filter, had ammonia @ 1mg. sorted that out and now all fish at bottom, clamped fins and not looking good, treated this past week with NT labs E.X.5 as advised by local dealer (no one down here does scrapes) after full 5 day treatment change only for the worse, as said all fish now poorly. Have just purchased microscope from ebay but do have immediate problem. As just treated, finished Friday, do i go for pp dip or do i have to waite? any help much appreciated. You say tropical treatment? what do you mean, i have no quarantine facilities.
cheers, Pete
