Hi John, the black fish is a Jap black Chagoi and no it doesn't change colour through the summer.

Hi Kate,

What type of Koi is the small, jet black one... centre, near bottom?
Reason I ask is that I have two of these and never known whether they're Koi or what!
Also, one of my two gains white tips to its fins and head through summer and then turns black again for winter... does yours do this???
