I have to say Mick, sorry but don't think that this will be any where near big enough for koi. Unless you get very small ones to start with.

For me its the volume of water you will have that gives me the worries, however I wish you all the best with it.

Just my opinion.

Hi Jason,
is the water ground water? If so how do you intend to get rid of the damp to fiberglass? Only ask as I had similar problems and it turned into a major problem.

However the fluidised K1 and jap mat was more than enough biologically and never had any readings.

Hi,
never got round toi doing the fluidbed or static K1. The position of the QT was wrong in the garage and could smell it in the house so it is being moved. Also I would go for a seive a bubble bead set up if doing it again for the space used and maintenence. I suppose you live and learn

Do you have any shots of the final settlement / static K1 chamber? Also have you added the fluidbed yet? I'm planning on starting my indoor QT soon and think you had some great ideas with yours!

Hi Roy,

Unfortunately the amount of water ingress I had prevented me from rendering. My membrane split and I had 6" seep in one night !! Foam at the time provided me a quick solution which worked well. It is only now that I am changing the filter and have had the pond virtually empty for 8 weeks that the inward water pressure is making the foam float on top. Its full up again now and I seem to have got away with no glass splits etc. Never foam again though !!

Hi David,

Igot the sheet which is 1m x 1m from Richdon koi. I get all my stuff from there. If its in stock it's next day or so delivery and they let you know if will be late. It cost £25 for the sheet.

Thanks for the comment, it's full now and bubbling away. Will post some more photos when I get the K1 going.

Hi,

The turnable returns are a nice idea, but do you not worry about harm to the fish ?? I wanted as smooth a surface as possible to prevent injuries.

Hi,

How are you finding the temperatures inside the enclosure?

I intend to put a pergola over my pond next year and do something like you in the winter.
