Having seen this pond again last week I'm quite happy to say it is without doubt the best koi pond I've seen in the UK, and I've seen well over a thousand! Lucy was well impressed by the fish and their fry!
Thanks for that Dave. I haven't tried it myself, but when I see pics like yours & those from Julie & Judy it makes me interested in having a go myself.
Hatch rate was good, very little fungus on the eggs that were not fertile. They are now on a mix of Liquifry2 and newly hatched artemia 4 times a day. Another couple of weeks and they will need some more room
Best thing was that she came out things without a mark on her; bit of an Essex girl as I only added her to the main pond from growing on 36 hours previously!
They spawned at 21 degrees, moved to hatching tank and raised to 23 degrees. Ammonia, Nitrite Nil Nittrae 20ppm, PH 7.8. Fed on Brine shrimp for six weeks before moving to powdered pellet.
The 6 I have grown on from this 2006 spawning are now between 40 and 50cm.
