Hi Darren, the pipe on the left is to drain off 10% of water when I do a water change and the pipe on the right is mains water to top back up. This pipe is plastic underground and only copper in photo. this is because this type of valve does not fit plastic. hope to incorporate a water purifier in this copper section in the next few months. cheers neil
